There are lots of varieties of bacteria found in the plaque that stick on the teeth and some of these bacteria causes gum disease and gum infection and they are the harmful ones. Bleeding gums is one of the early symptoms of gum infection; gums can also become swollen, tender and red. However, these early symptoms can be easily reversed when detected at the early stage. Also when treatment is delayed, gingivitis will developed leading to periodontitis where condition already advanced. As an effect persistent bad breath, bleeding and swelling of gums, receding gums and eventually tooth loss can be experienced.
