Whilst I strongly uphold that they are in no way a food source and should not be consumed under any situation – scientists assert otherwise.

New scientific study shows that brussels sprouts contain sulforaphane. These sulforaphanes through some kind of genetic process boosts the body’s detoxification enzymes. They say this is good thing as it assists the body to discharge potentially carcinogenic substances out of the body. However to get this benefit you need to consume 100 grams of sprouts every day and that is 100 grams to much.
